Brief History -

Hi I'm Rachael and have been a vocal performer for over 25 years. As well as singing, I have also had experience in acting, songwriting, vocal coaching and recording. I have performed in musical theatre and worked with some of the best recording artists in the business including Christine Anu, Marcia Hines, Tania Doko, Renee Geyer, John Paul Young & Mark Holden. I have also trained with Kerrie Bidell, one of Australia’s most renowned jazz vocalists of all time and I have also worked with International jazz musicians live: Hamish Stuart, Nick Hempton, Matt Baker, John Harkins, Jade McCrae & Darren Percival. From the age of 8 I studied singing, dancing & acting with Keane Kids Studios in Sydney where I studied “Seth Riggs Vocal Method “ with Leigh McCrae (Australian Idol,The Voice). In 2005 I created & produced “Bridge The Gap” music festival at The Metro Theatre, Sydney featuring well known artists Bliss & Eso, The Botanics, Maya Jupiter, organising all elements of the live show from creative concept to press release, marketing, graphics, liasing with artists, band and sound engineering to live production. In 2008 I graduated from RMIT Melbourne with a Diploma in Music Industry - TechnicalProduction. I was then hand picked to work for boutique record label PLW (Melboune) as Vocal Editor, Artist Relations, over seeing all studio recordings and collaborating with marketing team and organising live events. More recently I appeared on the airwaves of Triple J, as the featured vocalist on the track “Get Mine” by Skryptcha (Obese Records), and also made a mark as a soulful, jazzy, pop artist. I toured Australia with well known Aussie Hip hop Acts - 360, Urthboy, Mantra, Spit Syndicate, Chasm (Astronomy Class) doing a string of live shows that rocked the nation. My track "Breathe" garnered the attention of UK Producer - Hint of the record label Tru Thoughts (Alice Russell, The Bamboos) and became the winning song of the International Remix competition on Beatport. After a 3 year creative stint living in North America, I collaborated with Canadian producer Evren, performing for the NXNE Music Festival and Honey Jam in Toronto. My song "You Say" was chosen to be released through Universal Canada. My song " I Want It Now" also received plenty of attention from Triple J, (MGM) and was chosen to be the theme song for Canadian T.V Show "David Rocco's Dolce Vita, for cable TV Internationally. My vocal coaching experience spans 15 years including Plie Groove & Shuffle (GroupSinging & Private), Shine Dance Studio, Yamaha Music School (Thailand), Dance North Academy,Debra Lyn Dance Academy(Canada), Nutrition Week - Numbulwar Indiginous Community, Arnhem Land and more recently The Institute of Popular Music and Sydney Vocal Arts Centre under the direction of Margi Cohen.“Forging my way through one of the toughest industries, I have built a wealth of knowledge and success through passion, determination & hard work. I have performed in front of thousands of people live and I love to inspire & nurture the youth of today.”
